The Independent Panel 'T.I.P'

At the beginning of April 2025, we brought together The Independent Panel (“T.I.P”) of Professional and Master sommeliers and drinks experts to perform a thorough and comprehensive review of the best non-alc wines that The Freed From Company had discovered from around the world.

Stage 1:

The First 12 Months

Over the past year, Freed From embarked on a remarkable journey exploring the world’s finest non-alcoholic beverages using a Team of up to twenty sommeliers and researchers spanning the globe. We reviewed and sampled over 7,000 non-alcoholic wines, spirits, and elixirs, in our quest for the finest.

Although the best non-alcoholic producers are scattered across the world, the market has shifted spectacularly over the last three years. Through the journey, we uncovered some truly extraordinary varieties from vineyards and spirit producers. We have been using individual sommeliers and tasters in each continent to judge the ‘First Taste’ of each product, and around 9% of what we have tasted internationally was then sent to our offices in London.

Out of the 7,500 drinks, a colossal 550 non-alcoholic wines were chosen and presented to The Independent Panel (‘T.I.P’) for its review. The series of tastings conducted by T.I.P were held in Notting Hill in the week up to and including Wednesday, April 9th.

During this extensive 5-day process, the T.I.P team held a day of tasting traditional still red wines, a day of traditional still white wines, a day of alternative wines, a day of rosé both still and sparkling and a final day of traditional white sparkling wines all of which were 0.5 ABV or less.

From T.I.P’s tireless work during these tastings, we are delighted to now have a list of which of the 550 ‘Made the Grade™’.
